Summary:

Due to consistent growth domestically and internationally, Flexicon is seeking candidates for Mechanical Engineers and/or Designers at our world headquarters in Bethlehem, PA. 

The successful employee is an energetic, detail-oriented individual who enjoys working within a team environment.  A positive attitude, strong organizational skills including time management, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.  Candidates must also have good mechanical aptitude to understand the functionality of process equipment.

Responsibilities include sales order processing, machine design ranging from small individual components to fully automated process equipment, new product development and existing product optimization.

Candidates should have mechanical design experience, parametric solid modeling expertise and/or a Mechanical Engineering or Design degree. 

Desired Skills:

• Experience designing complicated parts, mechanisms and assemblies for manufacture utilizing parametric solid modeling software (e.g. Inventor, Solidworks, etc)
• Experience with document control software and model lifecycle state
• Understanding of shop floor fabrication processes, inclusive of sheet metal, welding and machining
• Experience in machine design
  • Material handling and conveying
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Pneumatic systems
  • Gear motors and drives
  • Sheet metal design
  • Structural steel components
  • Plastic machined and molded components
• Team leadership experience is beneficial
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, codes, standards and regulatory requirements
• Ability to make solid decisions and recommendations in a rapid paced environment
• Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
• A portfolio or presentation of prior work and experience is very beneficial

Minimum Qualifications:

• Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Design degree (A.S., B.S., etc)

or

• Certified experience in machine design and / or parametric modeling

A minimum of 4 years’ experience in the above is preferred.
